Imagine, a world without sickness. Everyone walking around with smiles on their faces, shoulders back and heads held high. Instead of hospitals being on every other block, there would only be one every other city (if that). And all of those tax dollars could be put to MUCH better use along with your money for all of those medical bills. This is a world that every doctor dreads. Because of this, they are keeping a very big secret from all of us. If they were to give us the advice that would make us healthy from day one, they would be out of business and not making money off of making ppl wait in a waiting room for over an hour just to tell us we will be fine or to prescribe a medication, tell us to get surgery, or refer us to someone who "specializes" in whatever is "wrong" with us, .. Instead they see a world of money from medicine. They make much more that way. Working on myself I have seen how hard fascia can get and how that can do damage over time. Most hard fascia I have felt feels like bone, no exaggeration. I could point one out on you and wouldn't even believe me until I worked on it and showed you right before your eyes that I can make it melt underneath my hand. It doesn't amaze me anymore how there are so many illnesses without cause or cure. The very simple answer is massage. If from day one we were to keep our bodies healthy, fluid filled, and stretched, then we would rarely need to see a doctor. So why would they recommend you to do massage? Instead they tell you to take this pill so instead of curing you, they hold it off for a while to make it look like they are actually helping you. Then you come back any amount of time later only this time it's something else, maybe even something worse. It's because over this time, even more fascia has hardened causing more internal damage therefore causing more illness. I believe every illness is determined by which set of muscles have dehydrated and fascia has hardened and maybe even in a certain order. As I was working down the layer of fascia, breaking through strand upon strand, I was experiencing different illnesses(?) After massaging for a while those signs and symptoms would go away for a day and I would feel like an amazing, younger new person. But then the tension that was now on the most outward part of my body were the ones wanting/craving attention so they caused a different set of signs and symptoms (or illness) and so and so forth until I worked through my whole body which took a VERY long time to break through (I'm still actually working on it.) However, I must point out that I had an unimaginably hard layer of muscles on the top and couldn't do much progressive work until breaking through that top layer (starting in massage school and then to and from work I would work on them in the car.. resting my arm on the arm rest.) Working on the muscles and fascia became quite easy and was actual work that showed progress the second i started working right before my eyes hard knots were melting away. I started wondering if I was going to physically disappear because thats what it seemed like the muscles were doing, disappearing. It was amazing. Come to find out, I am just slightly thinner then I thought I was. Not that I wanted to be any thinner but as long as I'm healthier now, I don't care. Not only am I more healthy but you won't believe how much better I can move around now. Now instead of waking up and feeling like my body is a ton of bricks, I feel like an actual human being!
And guess what! I have MORE good news! Why do muscles harden or contract? Because your brain is telling them to. Usually that is because of some sort of emotion. After a while, making the same muscle move time and time again, it begins to constantly contract which actually causes it to harden. This is where that saying comes from, "Keep making that face and it will stay there forever!" It's actually partially true! Once these muscles have hardened its a lot easier for you to be sensitive to that emotion. Also, it's kind of holding on to that emotion so your brain is always feeling that one moment. I am going to say that it is my very strong belief that this is where PTSD stems from. Once you have hardened all of those muscles in that muscle group you are going to be extra sensitive to anything that makes you feel that way, therefore getting all of the symptoms of PTSD. So, for the good news. As I would release these muscles (this was only after breaking through the top few layers) I would actually FEEL THE EMOTION LIFT FROM MY BODY and feel like a HUGE weight was lifted off of my shoulders. Massage is the BEST thing that has ever happened to me. It has saved my life. I recommend it to you, your loved ones, and anyone hoping to feel better but can't quite put there finger on how. Don't go to your doctor, go get a massage :) I promise, you won't regret it! But please! Give it a few sessions! I didn't start realizing all of this until about A YEAR after I was out of massage school and then working on myself for a few months even after that. So please don't give up on it and it is very important to find a massage therapist who knows what they are doing.
UPDATE:
It is good to know that there are many doctors, chiropractors and physical therapists, as well as other therapists who have also tried helping to have a positive progressional impact in their field either from changing former beliefs to be able to grow, or from new entries into the field with a different mindset to start.
